Our History

A vision from God began to be visible beginning in January of 2012 made known to Anita, and later to Grant Ostrom. That vision quickly grew into reality as God clearly made known His wishes of their service to Him.
That vision was to begin a counseling center for youth and others with services to be offered free of charge (by donations only for those who could)Free for all for those that could not.
Through the church where Grant was pastor, the seed was sown and quickly matured into that which God desired for Paris and the surrounding area. In order to accelerate plans, Anita and Grant sold their property and cashed in their retirement. (There was no retirement in God's plan.)
Matthew 19:26 -- All Things Are Possible. Jesus looked at them intently and said, *Humanly speaking, it is impossible, but with God everything is possible.
Kurt Ostrom Counseling Center was named after Grant and Anita*s son, who had passed away. Kurt Ostrom Counseling Center was incorporated as a faith based non profit organization. The center was approved as a 501-3C non profit for tax exempt status.
The first center Executive Director, Anita Ostrom, was appointed on April 3, 2012. The doors were opened for ministry on September 4. 2012.  In June 2013 Anita completed certification from Light University, a part of Liberty University in Virginia. Anita completed certifications for Biblical Counseling for all people, for kids and teens. Grant Ostrom came on full time in February 2013 as consultant, pastor, and adviser.    A thrift store was opened in Dec. 2012.  Located at 318 Tyson. 100% of all proceeds come back to the center to pay expenses. All monetary donations are tax deductible.
Non denominational, no doctrine will be discussed, only scripture. "Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified."  Galatians 2:16A
